Day 5: Thursday January 5, 2017 

Time Flies

As if the first work week of 2017 is already almost over. Slow yourself down Father Time, what’s the rush? This year I’ve decided to work on finding time. Too often in the past I’ve found excuses for not having the time to do things and missed out on fun that could have been had. This year is going to be different. Life is too short to not make time for the things you care about and that matter to you. 

One Step At a Time

Today was a step in the right direction for me making time for the good stuff. I of course still had work but on lunch got to destress and just write. After work I got to take the bus home while listening to my awesome podcasts. Honestly I have no idea what I did before listening to podcasts. I always feel so informed and fulfilled listening to them. They make me truly appreciate how easy it can be to learn something new through such a wide variety of mediums. 

Disney Downtime 

Confession time, I’m obsessed with Disney movies. I absolutely love relaxing with a comfy blanket, a nice cup of coffee, and a wonderful throwback Disney movie. And tonight, that’s exactly what I did. A girlfriend of mine came over and we “Disneyed” so hard. It was so nice just getting together for a relaxing night of good laughs, great stories, and good ol’ Disney. 

What I Learned Today 

Today really showed me how important it is to enjoy the simple things. To make time for the things that bring you joy, and for me today that just happened to be a movie night with a friend. Whatever that means for you, remember to give your soul the enjoyment it craves. You only have one life, might as well have as much fun as you can.

Lunch

-100g strawberry yogurt (35 calories, 5g carbs, 4g protein, 4g sugar)

-100g pineapple (50 calories, 0.1g fat, 13g carbs, 0.5g protein, 1.4g fibre, 10g sugar)

-100g green grapes (66 calories, 0.1g fat, 15.4g carbs, 0.4g protein, 0.7g fibre, 15.4g sugar)

-McCains pizza pocket 3 cheese (340 calories, 15g fat, 35g carbs, 15g protein, 3g fibre, 5g sugar)

-baby carrots (0.8 cup, 40 calories, 9g carbs, 1g protein, 2g fibre, 3g sugar)

-fortune cookie (thanks mom) (107 calories, 0.8g fat, 23.8g carbs, 1.2g protein) 

Dinner

-chicken shawarma (475 calories, 13.2g fat, 55g carbs, 35g protein, 4.2g fibre, 10g sugar)
